Sacrae Singing Group

We are a community singing group in Cambridge, UK, and we sing sacred music from around the world and from different spiritual traditions. We sing short easy songs with beautiful harmonies, and we choose songs that are easy to learn and that nourish the heart and song. The songs are mostly contemplative, meditative and reflective. No singing experience is necessary, and we teach the songs by ear. We invite you to join us!

We usually meet on the first and third Sundays of each month, mostly at Romsey Mill but occasionally at Ross Street Community Centre (both close to Mill Road in Cambridge) - details below. The sessions are free, with a suggested donation of £3 to £5 to cover the cost of room hire. The group is a drop-in group, so it is fine to come just when you can.

The group is led by Anna McIvor and Helen East. None of us are professional singers or teachers - we just love singing this kind of music!

Events coming up

Our first singing session this year is on Sunday 7th January, 2-3:30pm at Romsey Mill.

We'll sing a mix of songs from different traditions, followed by tea. Amongst other songs, we'll be singing Ubi Caritas, a favourite from Taize, and the lovely "Thy light is in all forms" from the Sufi tradition.

We hope to meet on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of the month throughout the year, always starting at 2pm. The venues are as follows:
21 January - Ross Street Community Centre (approx 5 mins walk from Romsey Mill)
4 February - Romsey Mill
